The mision of the Health and Human Services Facet is to promote and facilitate programs that support the maintenance of good health and the elimination of chronic health disparities in communities of color through education, health and advoacy, and optimal utilzation of health resources.

Hoffman Estates Links "Go Red for Women" in support of National Heart Association's Wear Red Day.

The Hoffman Estates Chapter of the Links Inc., supports this facet by:
  • Participating in the national Go Red initative sponsored by the National Heart Association
  • Participating in the Y-Me race to support breast cancer research and assistance for women who are diagnosed with the disease
  • Partnering with St. Joseph's Hospital in Elgin to support new mothers and infants by puchasing baby blankets, bottles and other necessity as well as providing them with information on infant health and care  
  • Collaborating with the Gail Borden Library in Elgin to promote family health and fitness by providing low-fat cookbooks.
Kickin' Asthma Workshop

Asthma is the most common chronic disorder in childhood. The Hoffman Estates Chapter of The Links, Inc. sponsored The Christopher D. Redding Youth Asthma Foundation who hosted a session about the causes of youth asthma, its symptoms and triggers, proper use of medications, and asthma support for proper management

To celebrate the National Heart Association "Go Red for Women" campaign several Hoffman Estates Links attended the Oakbrook Macy's Go Red event. The event included healthy cooking tips and food samples as well as blood pressure screening. (February 8, 2014).
Here, chapter members watch as a demonstration on proper way to administer CPR.
