Programs
The Hoffman Estates (IL) Chapter of The Links, Incorporated services the Elgin and Northwest Suburban communities of Chicago, IL. The Hoffman Estates (IL) Chapter is one of eight chapters in the Chicagoland community. We sponsor numerous charitable, educational and cultural programs that benefit the African American community. We are an organization of accomplished, dedicated women who volunteer their time helping those who are less fortunate in our respective community service areas. We sponsor one fundraiser annually, “Jazzin' & Steppin' into Fashion.” Proceeds generated from this benefit enhance our five facets: The Arts, National Trends & Services, Health & Human Services, Services to Youth and International Trends & Services.
National and Area AwardsPartnerships with The Gail Borden Library and Second Baptist Church have been instrumental over the years in reaching more of the community...resulting in a 1st place award and Best Practice Award recognition from the Central Area of The Links, Incorporated for the National Trends & Services “Know Your Rights”progam in 2019 and The Arts National best practice award for the Art of Math program in 2020.
Virtual Programming & PartnershipsThe COVID-19 pandemic has made it necessary to be extra creative in developing meaningful programming and events. Our program vision of “Keeping the Promises…” has not changed amid this unfortunate crisis. As we study the disproportionate impact on communities of color there is a renewed focus on those programs that help to eradicate those disparities and with a greater sense of urgency than ever before. What we do at its core, as a chapter, for our community does not change, but how we do it has now changed. To keep our promises, we leveraged our community partners and implemented programs within the constructs of our “new normal”.
The Hoffman Estates (IL) Chapter will continue to charge forward adapting to this new reality to remain a relevant resource and compelling voice in this more virtual world...to ensure we are meeting, serving, and supporting our communities in Friendship and Service.
